Udupi: 17 year old boy drowned at Jomlu Theertha

Udupi: A 17 year old boy drowned at Jomlu Theertha waterfalls near Belve on Tuesday, November 10. The deceased boy has been identified as Anil Pinto, a resident of Koppa in Chikkamagaluru.

It is reported that 28 students from Holy Cross students’ home in Katpadi had gone on picnic on Tuesday to Jomlu Theertha waterfalls. After spending time there when they returned to the vehicle and counted the student, one person was missing. They learnt that Anil Pinto was not in the group and rushed to the falls again where they found the body of Anil in the river.

Anil Pinto was studying in college and was doing preparations to join seminary to become a Catholic clergyman.

The body has been taken to a hospital in Manipal for post mortem. Hebri police have registered the case.
