Kundapura came to a halt due to incessant rain

Kundapur: Due to incessant rain since few days the Panchagangavali rivers are over flowing resulting in flood in nearby residential areas. Due to water logging pedestrians and vehicle goers faced problem.

Kundapur: Due to incessant rain since few days the Panchagangavali rivers are over flowing resulting in flood in nearby residential areas. Due to water logging pedestrians and vehicle goers faced problem.

2325 acres of agricultural land was flooded by rain water in Kundapur taluk. Agricultural department, Revenue department and Mescom department estimated the loss at Rs. 45 lakhs. Seven cattled from Shirur and two from Navunda went missing. Six houses damaged in the taluk due rain out of which three houses collapsed completely and three partially damaged.

Areas like Arate, Kalavina Bagilu, Muvatthu Mudi, KannadaKudru, Maravanthe Salbuda, Senapura, Rathiberu, Haklady, Battekudru, Chungigudde, Hadavu, Kuru, Konki, Badakere, Padukone have submarged in the flood.

Access to many villages have been completely blocked and the people were made to stay in their houses. In many places people were shifted to safe places. Revenue officers, police department, fire personnel are working hard in rescue operations.
