Avinash Poojary, a youngster from Vamanjoor, Mangaluru is a well known dancer worldwide. He has participated in international dance competition and made India proud. In an interaction with SeeandSay.in, Avinash speaks about his life:
I represented our country in Hip Hop Competition last year in Las Vegas. I was very happy that I got an opportunity. I learnt a lot last time. Just being part of an event where popular dancers across the world participated was a big high for me. I am working in a corporate in Bengaluru currently
I did not go to any dance school to learn dancing. In my high school, I was good in Yoga. I took part in state and national level events as well. I was passionate of dancing. But I did not know how to get into dancing field. I am from Vamanjoor, where there was no dancing school. My parents also did not want me to go to dancing school at an early age. I decided to learn dancing, watching Youtube videos. I learnt dance by watching videos. I hurt myself many times, while doing some risky stunts. But it was all worth it.
Boyzone, a popular dance group in Mangaluru asked me to be part of their team. I am grateful to be associated with such a group. I took part in “Entertainment Ke liye Kuch Bhi Karega”, a popular show in Sony TV. We went to quaterfinal. We also participated in a dance show in E-TV Telugu channel.
7 Up dancing
I took part in 7 Up Dancing completion, which was telecasted in Udaya TV. The programme had dancing, acting as well as singing. For the auditions, I went for acting and was not selected. Later I went for dancing and got selected. I was made a captain of team and we ended up winning the show.
Allu Arjun Connect
When I was in high school, I watched Telugu film “Arya” in my friend’s house. I was impressed with his dance steps. I started to watch all his dance. He is my role mode. I happened to meet him in a dance show in Chennai, wherein he was a judge. He liked my performance and praised me. I told him about him being my role model.
I want to be part of this wonderful world of dance. I want to do more forms of dance and as well teach children dance. I hope I inspire youngsters to learn dancing.
SeeandSay.in wishes Avinash Poojary all the best for his future.
