Manoranjan Ravichandran is back on big screen for second time with Bruhaspati, which is remake of Tamil film VIP. The film which has been backed by popular producer Rockline Venkatesh and remake specialist Nandakishore has been marketed as a mass film. Let us see how the film is:
Director : Nandakishore
Producer : Rockline Venkatesh
Music Director : V Harikrishna
Starring : Manoranjan, Mishti Chakraborthy, Saikumar, Sithara and Sadhu Kokila
The film is about a jobless engineering graduate. He is often insulted by his father and compared with his younger brother, who is employed youth. His life changes when he falls in love with neighbor, who is also high educated and working in MNC. He gets a job finally. However he has lots to prove. There are various hurdles, when he tries to do his work sincerely. Whether he survives in the job? How does his relationship with his family end? For all these questions, you have to watch the film.
Manoranjan disappoints this time. He had given a better performance in his debut film Saheba. He tries to ape Dhanush. His Kannada is also not clear and has influence of Tamil, which is his mother tongue. Mishti Chakraborthy does not have much to do. Saikumar and Sithara are excellent as Manoranjan’s parents. Sadhu Kokila is good and provides comic relief.
DIRECTION AND TECHNICAL REVIEW
Nandakishore, who has become a remake specialist disappoints. He has not done much changes in script from the original. He has also not been able to extract good performance from Manoranja, The production values of film are high. But at the end of the day, if the story is not engaging, technical values hardly matter. Music by Harikrishna is average.
The film is poor start to 2018. Hope Manoranjan stays away from remakes. It is better to watch the original film on internet. You can skip it.
