Tulu film industry has been criticised for portraying same old drama and slapstick based comedy in their films. But it looks like youngsters are ready to give the necessary changes to the films by making different concept films. The Tulu industry has been making noteworthy strides, of late. Among the many innovations that the local industry has been trying, storylines form a crucial role.
Now in a first for Tulu films, a dark comedy is all set to be filmed. Dedicated to the legendary Tulu comedy actor the late Anand Bolar, the movie has been titled “Pathis Gang”. The local audiences thrive on slapstick comedy. It is a genre that has often been tried and tested.
The film will be directed by Sooraj Bolar, andthe movie stars Mohan Sheni, Vismaya Vinayak, Kannada actor Ajay Raj and Chandrahas Ullal. Aravind Bolar, Kishor D Shetty, Vijayakumar Kodialbail and Deepak Rai Panaje will also be seen in special roles in the film.
Preetham will be producing the film. The film will shot on a 27-day schedule in and around Mangaluru and Moodbidri. Manikanth Kadri will be helming the music of “Pathis Gang”.
The muhurat of the film was held at Shri Mangaladevi Temple on January 22. Mayor Kavita Sanil was the chief guest, director-actor Devdas Kapikad, director-producer Kishor D Shetty and director-producer Vijaykumar Kodialbail were the guests of honour.
The film is a dark comedy thriller which will be a new experience for Coastalwood viewers. The film is about three conmen played by Mohan Sheni, Vismay Vinayak, and Ajay Raj who con people. The film will be made on a budget of Rs 70 lac. There will also be a promotional song in the film, which is a rarity for Tulu film.
The film is inspired by real life incidents. ‘Do not get conned’ is the message of the film.
