Unbeatable Angara and newbie Umanath Kotian wins Sullia and Moodbidri respectively

S Angara of the BJP has managed to retain his Sullia seat for the sixth consecutive time. S Angara secured 95,205 while Dr Raghu from the Congress garnered 69,137 votes. Raghu of the BSP has secured 1,472 votes.

Sullia/Moodbidri: S Angara of the BJP has managed to retain his Sullia seat for the sixth consecutive time. S Angara secured 95,205 while Dr Raghu from the Congress garnered 69,137 votes. Raghu of the BSP has secured 1,472 votes.

S Angara was expected to win the seat without much difficulty and he has done it. Meanwhile in Moodbidri, BJP candidate Umanath Kotian has won by a margin  of over 22,000 votes by defeating Abhayachandra Jain of the Congress. Umanath secured 51,351 votes as against 31,371 votes secured by Abhayachandra.

Counting of Karnataka votes began sharp at 8 am on Tuesday, May 15. Counting is on in 222 constituencies of the 224-seat Assembly. Voting was not held in two seats. Any party that touches 112 will get the clean majority to form government.
